What is end-of-life care?

At the end of life, many of us would wish for a peaceful passing, surrounded by familiar faces and familiar surroundings.

This is what you can achieve with end-of-life care at home.

The process of moving into a hospice or hospital can be uncomfortable and unbalancing, especially during the last stage of your life. Moreover, staying there for an extended period can make it even more distressing.

By choosing to receive end-of-life care at home, you can stay where you feel most comfortable and safe. You'll also have the support and comfort of family members close by, which is essential during this difficult time.

Live-in care for end of life

A live-in carer will stay in the home with you, being on-hand to provide the support that is needed when it’s needed most. Your care manager will work with you to carefully choose one of our fully trained carers, finding the person who is the right fit for your family. This carer will offer continuous support and be someone that you and your family get to know: a familiar face and source of encouragement and comfort.

And if you just need a little help in an emergency situation—we can arrange live-in care for as little as three days! You will just need a spare room for your carer to sleep in or other arrangements like a hotel. We can even provide 24-hour care and a live-in carer takes on the support role without fail.

 Home visits at set times

Finding the right balance between what you can provide and what your loved one needs during the last stage of their life can be incredibly difficult. You may feel overwhelmed, but at the same time, you also want to make sure that they are comfortable and cared for.

Our visiting care service is designed to fit your family's needs. We will visit for set times each day or week. These can be from as little as 30 minutes, all the way through to several hours at a time or a few visits each day.

Our compassionate caregivers will come into your home and assist with all kinds of tasks, including meal preparation and housekeeping. They'll also help your loved one get dressed or bathed, if necessary. We know that your loved one is important, and we want to ensure that they are cared for in a way that respects their dignity and personal space.

 Overnight end-of-life care at home

Even though you are there for your loved one all day, it’s likely that you need some time to rest and refresh yourself. And if your loved one needs constant support overnight, whether with medication, pain management or going to the toilet, you can arrange overnight care.

This offering could be of two kinds:

●      Waking night support: constant support throughout the night

●      Sleeping night support: the presence of a carer for your peace of mind in case your loved one wakes up and needs support

 Emergency care at home

An emergency can arise at any time and the right support can make all the difference. That’s why we also offer fast and responsive care services during the most challenging times in the comfort of your home to take some load off you.
